Flutta Terms of Use
These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use Flutta. Please read them with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we look after your information.
- Flutta is a personal diary and community app. It is not a medical device and does not give medical advice.
- Food information can be wrong. Always check the pack, especially for allergies.
- AI label reading and estimates are suggestions for you to check.
- If your symptoms are new or getting worse, contact your MS team, GP or doctor.
1. Who we are
Flutta is run by Greenstone Technologies Limited ("we", "us", "our"). These terms cover the Flutta iOS app and the Flutta websites at flutta.ms and datingwithms.com.
By creating an account or using Flutta, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Flutta.
If you downloaded Flutta from the App Store, Apple's standard licence terms also apply.
2. Using Flutta
- You must be 18 or over.
- Keep your login details private. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- Be kind and honest. Do not post anything unlawful, hateful, threatening or misleading, or anyone else's private information.
- We may remove content, limit features or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other members at risk.
- You can delete your account at any time from the app or the website. Our Privacy Policy explains how.
3. Flutta is not medical advice
- Flutta is a personal diary and community app. It is not a medical device. It does not give medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
- Check-ins, food notes, flare-up marks, patterns, meal plans and appointment notes are for your own records and to help you talk with your care team. They are not a substitute for advice from your MS team, GP, neurologist, dietitian or pharmacist.
- A pattern in your diary does not prove that a food caused anything. MS symptoms change for many reasons.
- Please do not change your diet, medication or treatment because of something you see in Flutta without talking to your care team first.
- Other members share their own experience. It is not professional advice.
4. If you feel unwell
If you have new symptoms, symptoms that are getting worse, or symptoms that last more than 24 hours, contact your MS team, GP, neurologist or doctor.
In the UK you can call NHS 111 for urgent advice, or 999 in an emergency. In the US, call 911 in an emergency.
Nobody at Flutta watches the app for emergencies, so please do not use messages or posts in Flutta to ask for urgent help.
5. Food data
Food information in Flutta comes from third-party databases and from other members. It may be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and recipes change. Always check the product's pack, especially if you have an allergy or intolerance. A warning in Flutta, or the lack of one, does not mean a food is safe or unsafe for you.
Some food information in Flutta comes from fatsecret. By using Flutta you agree to be bound by the fatsecret Platform API Terms of Use (https://platform.fatsecret.com/terms).
fatsecret's food information covers foods sold in the United States. If you live outside the US, Flutta marks it as US data, so please check it against your own pack.
We also use:
- Open Food Facts, a database built by volunteers, used under the Open Database Licence (ODbL).
- USDA FoodData Central, from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
- McCance and Widdowson's Composition of Foods Integrated Dataset (CoFID), published by the UK government. Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
If you add a product that is not in any database, please copy the details honestly from the pack. Its name, figures and ingredients (but not who added it) are shared with other members who scan the same barcode, and you allow us to use them in this way.
6. AI suggestions
Some features use AI, for example reading a food label you photograph, "Fill in for me" estimates for a meal you type, meal plans and appointment questions. AI can make mistakes. Treat what it gives you as a suggestion to check, not a fact, and check figures and ingredients against the pack before you rely on them.
7. Paid features
Paid features in the iOS app are bought through Apple and follow Apple's payment and refund rules.
8. Our responsibility to you
- We work to keep Flutta running well and its information useful, but we cannot promise it will always be available, free of errors, or complete and accurate.
- We are not responsible for loss or harm caused by relying on food data, patterns or AI suggestions in Flutta instead of checking the pack or asking a health professional.
- We are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen, or for business losses.
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit or exclude.
- Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when Flutta changes or the law requires it. We will change the date at the top of this page. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales deal with any dispute (to be confirmed by our solicitor against where the company is registered). If you live elsewhere in the UK or outside it, you keep any protection that the law where you live gives you and that cannot be taken away by agreement, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
